If the sun shines over Kilimanjaro, it will be abosrbed by the Solaris 12 watt flexible solar panel mounted atop Kevins backpack, and charge a Solo 7.5 battery. This battery will be used to charge a lightweight laptop computer, and some other gadgets. Kevin's brother Craig ( an engineer with Iridium) has made a satellite phone available for the expedition. Every night, Kevin will type a message into the laptop telling us he was ready to quit, but that Michelle had climbed back down and inspired him to press on.
Steve: I think you are doing greating at not only keeping us updated but projecting into the future. I do take one exception to your update however. I think that Brian, Alison and Michelle will all be coming back to encourage Kevin not to quit.

ReplyDeleteShe also beat me in a marathon - she ran Chicago in 4:30 and I could only muster 4:32 in Detroit. I do think she's gained more weight than me though.
