13,200 feet
Kevin called in an update on the satellite phone. The laptop is currently dead - sounded like a battery issue. This is really a shame, as I have been publishing Kevin's accounts verbatim. I could never have penned "the porta potty is our reason for making it to the end of each day"
Ten minutes after they left Barranco camp this morning, they were confronted by Barranco Wall. He said it was a hairy climb, about 800 feet high, and took a couple of hours. "If you slipped, you'd be cooked."
After the wall, they crossed a couple of valleys and reached Karanga Camp at about 3:00pm. Kevin felt something in his hair, which turned out to be puss leaking out from a sunburned area (Brian described it as a white puss).
Tomorrow they head to Barafu. From here to the top, they (translated: Allison and the porters) have to carry their water with them.
There is a possibility they may now go to the summit on Wednesday. Objectively, Kevin is doing the worst on the medical exams. Subjectively, Michelle is feeling the crappiest while climbing.

I think most of us are living vicariously through the Voglers - I realize it's hard going, but it certainly is a once in a lifetime experience that most of the rest of us will never have the opportunity to pursue. I'm sure the stories will be plentiful when they get back. This blog is great. Thanks Mr. McQueen!
