Well, I expected to have a "live" update from Tanzania today - but it never came. I guess I will have to make something up.
I received this photo from the Kilimanjaro Airport earlier.

Coming out to meet the airplane are the four "rental" elephants that will carry their baggage. Kevin said that "Even though we have 5 porters per person, the Kilimanjaro Ascent Porters Union Tribunal (KAPUT) imposes a strict weight limit on each porter. We nearly exhaust our limit with electronics gear alone, leaving no capacity for the Clif Bars.

Dorothy Bixby, spokesperson for Clif Bars in Berkeley, said they had never sold that amount of product to a single customer before - including the U.S Olympic Team. This picture is of the scientific taste test conducted in the final days of training. Michelle explained their dilemma, "Almost all of us liked the Chocolate Almond Fudge, but how are we to know if we wouldn't rather have Oatmeal Raisin Walnut or Peanut Toffee Buzz at 16,000 feet? So we packed them all."
